76-514. Noncommercial recreation.


(a) 
Permitted uses. The following noncommercial recreation uses may be permitted in all residential districts and the O-2 district:
(1) 
Private noncommercial recreation areas, institutional or community recreation centers.
(2) 
Nonprofit swimming pools.
(b) 
Site requirements. The proposed site for any of the community-servicing uses (those which would attract persons from beyond the immediate neighborhood) permitted in this section shall have one property line abutting a major or secondary thoroughfare. The site shall be planned so as to provide vehicular ingress and egress directly onto such major or secondary thoroughfare.
(c) 
Yard and placement requirements. No building shall be located, nor activity take place, within 50 feet of the perimeter of the recreation area. All such activities shall be adequately screened from abutting residentially zoned property by means of a protective wall or greenbelt as described in article V of this chapter.
(d) 
Other requirements. Whenever a swimming pool is to be provided, such pool shall be provided with a protective fence six feet in height and entry shall be by means of a controlled gate or turn-style.
(e) 
Environmental provisions and parking requirements. Environmental provisions and parking requirements shall be as required in articles V and VI of this chapter.
